Pokemon Bookmarks by taintedsilence Pokemon Bookmarks by taintedsilence
So almost no one commented on my journal on what they'd want from me at a con, but based on what val and also someone else's similar poll, I thought yeah, it woudl be good to offer a few smaller things. I always like bookmarks, and I actaully have a lot of bookmark laminates that I never used, so they'd be perfect. Anyway, my most popular stuff is prettymuch my pokemon gijinkas, so I made them all into bookmarks. Let me know what you think.

I'd probably sell them for $1 or 2 a piece, maybe the $2 would mean I put a tassel or something on them.

maybe you could push $3 if you put some kind of charm that related to the pokemon gijinka on the tassle

I understand. I'm just lazy, and its also good to keep these things a little cheap.

I am going out looking for beads today though.

>.> <.< I can make charms. But it does kinda seem much for a bookmark. Though, if you just punched holes in one side, it'd be super easy to put a few beads on a tasselly thing on.

hey, I think I once gave you a bunch of glass beads, but I was hoping you remembered where we got all those from, I went to hobby lobby today and they only had a few things, just a little that I got to use. Lemme know . . . (maybe michaels has good beads?)

I laughed because I wouldn't have guessed about the legendary birds, but when you pointed it out it seemed so obvious! At the time I was also surprised that your senior show had fanart in it.

The birds are my favourites of all of them. Or maybe Absol—the beret was a good choice.

hehe, I won't tell if you don't!

Thoguh honestly, I'm not sure how 'fanart' this is, since the only thing I"m doing is basing it on a pokemon, and really, there's a lot of creativity in making these guys.

do one. You'll find you enjoy it . . . maybe.

I thought of that also. I wouldn't know where to draw the fanart line—how different is this from interpreting cave paintings in a new way?

yes.

really, though, how many ideas ARE original ideas? Orson scott card argues that none are. And he probably just stole that from someone else.

I guess I had seen other interpretations Pokémon online, in pretty big numbers, especially on dA. It's about as common as seeing WALL•E and EVE anthropomorphized when the movie first came out.

I think in that light I was surprised that it was in your senior show and was prejudiced, for better or for worse I'm not sure.

well, I like giving them a different spin, and admittedly I DID like pokemon years and years ago when it came out for gameboy. Its a pretty neat game.

I'll argue that these are some of my favorite pieces, just cause they're SO DANG FUN! But I'm kind of a dork . . .
