I'm putting together a 48-page full color artbook. I"ll probably be selling it through amazon.com's create space, and they would be $20 each. I don't have the funds to put it together yet, but I am interested to see who would buy it. It would have illustrations as well as some process/how to's, and I'd also sell them for reduced price at cons. If you would spend the $20 to help out a floundering artist and to get your own copy, please tell me so! I've only had one person who wasn't a close friend order a commission from me, and if no one would want to order this, I'm beginnign to think my art career is just a flop.
Basically, before I invest this money, I'd like to know someone would actually want it!

New Store! (buy cool stuff!)
Hey all! I recently updated and reopened my storenvy site with TONS of new goodies, including bookmarks, posters, prints, and originals! I'll try to keep updating it on a regular basis and even include things like seasonal items and even more originals (including my paper-cut stuff!)
The storenvy is HERE: http://heidiblack.storenvy.com
Ohayocon
Hey all! Becca (nattosoup.blogspot.com) and I got a table at Ohayocon for 2014. Its been a VERY long time since I've been to Ohayocon (2006 was the last time?) Since then, they've changed to a no fanart policy, which hopefully will mean comics and art prints will sell better, but I'm not sure what all other people sell in those situations, and I'd love to hear some advice. I'll have comics, posters, and prints, and becca will have comics, charms, and original watercolors. We'll both be selling commissions as well.
Any advice?

Seeing as how you mentioned your tutorials are based off original art, this sounds more pleasing to me. Also, I just saw one of your posts with a sample, and it looks great--if your book was more helpful than the 'comickers' book I have, then this would be pretty damn kick ass. It would be nice if this book consisted more of tutorials and hints, and whenever you have actual artwork in there, it would show an example of what you were teaching/mentioning in the book instead of just 'other art you made'--it would be more helpful and less 'extra' stuff to put in (I hope this makes sense). If people would want to look at more extra artwork, they could always check your website, but if they wanted to learn something nice, I'd rather find it in the book. I will buy your book if it ever comes out, but only if I'm convinced that I'll learn something new in it (which I probably will). I hope that helps. If you need to 'invest' in it, you can make the book and set up a pre-order thing, where people buy the books before they're printed, and then you can print with the money you earned from pre-order (for the people who ordered) and a some extra.
